New generation of organic solar cells

Summer 2011: MICEL FILMS take part in the SFUMATO project, a project supported by the Single Interministerial Fund, which aim is to build the next generation of organic photovoltaic cells through printing inkjet digital technologies.
New generation of organic solar cells
Organic solar cells (OPVC) combine flexibility and lightness. Associated to digital printing technologies, the OPVC are then conformable, adapted to design and in ratios of cost / performance / life .

The SFUMATO project aims to build the following: OPVC generation:
• by controlling the chemistry and materials industrialization more efficient, more stable and suitable for digital printing process;
• by integrating in supple films and encapsulation solutions the OPVC specificity;

to achieve the following objectives:
performance improvement to reduce cell surfaces and / or increase the available energy;
improved stability of the materials to print solar cells to air.
increased the self life cells to open the spectrum of target applications;
creation of "color" cells to accelerate the acceptance of the designers.
